Assessment Week

As you may know, it is assessment week for KS2. It’s extremely important to learn and revise for your tests so that you can get a high level - which will eventually mean a better future!

Helpful Tips:
• Read your questions carefully.
• Don’t miss out any questions and answer carefully.
• If you are not sure about a question ask a teacher to read it for you (if allowed) but if you still don’t understand it, skip it and come back to it.
• Remember your VCOP.

Very important as well: If you get high percentage of attendance you may even be top of the class because you all have the opportunity to attend more lessons and gain more knowledge... SCHOOL ROCKS!

Adverse Weather

Hello Eastbury,

As some of you have seen, the playground is full of ice and we (the lovely children) cannot play outside for playtime or lunch. This is due to the adverse weather conditions we are experiencing at the moment.

Children should wear appropriate clothes for this weather such as jumpers, woolly hats, scarves and big, thick coats, warm gloves also some boots therefore children will not come down with a cold.

Also we hope the caretakers can clear the snow before the start of the new term and so children can have playtimes and lunchtimes back.

One more thing children: Please try your best not to go on the hill, it's very dangerous!

We hope you stay safe and have a fun half term.

World Book Day

We Will Miss You

Hello, Eastbury Blog Fans.

Maybe some of you might not know this, but one of our most fantastic teachers is leaving us this Friday (10-02-12).

Most of the Year 6 pupils are dreading to see Mrs Newman leave. Mrs Newman told 6B that it was a hard decision for her to make, but she finally made her choice and decided to leave. Even though she only has 3 days left of this brilliant school, we will try to make it worth it.

Mrs Newman is a really good teacher because she always understands us when we were down in the dumps. Also, she is very honest and caring.

As you all may know, it was no name calling week last week. We now should aim to carry that on for the rest of the year! Every day should be No Name Calling Week, we should show respect to everyone, class mates, teachers and staff.

Well done to all children who follow the Green Rules everyday.

No Name Calling Week was to help children understand that its not nice to bully other children in your class and different Year Groups, children come to school to learn not to be mistreated, that is just absolutely WRONG! Children should be happy at school not to be hurt or going home feeling upset, lonely, left out and being the one in the corner.

They are a part of life we need to make them feel happy not feel down in the dumps. Everybody is a human being you cant be mean to somebody about things like race or how they look or act some children come from different cultures and background but everyone should respect and treat once and other as they would want to be treated!

So be nice to others or there will be consequences. Teachers will be speak to your parents and probably spend your time in the reflection room were you can reflect on your silly naughty behavior! Treat kids how you want to be treated no "Games" as if you hit somebody as if it was a joke .

Olimpic Games

Hello Eastbury Fans,

You may not know this but our school may be given some more Oylimpic tickets! We are really excited and we are making alot of art pictures of the oylimpic games. For example our year five children have been spending there time making a fantastic picture of london,big ben and the athelets running through london.

We also have our year 6 pupils thinking of a brilliant idea about making head gears with the oylimpic theame and show off our costumes in a parade.So we are working very hard to make this happpen and get our amazing art done!

As you may know, inside the club is you get to play on the wii and play on the computers.What you could do is choose games you want to play like free runnig games and any other games what are aloud you can also listen to music and go on education city.

Big Writing in Eastbury!

Hey Eastbury followers!

In Eastbury Primary, we are going to have a little bit what’s called Big Writing this week!

In class, we are going to have a 10 minute talk in which we are going to share our ideas of what we are going to write about. Then, on Friday we are going to pour ideas into paper and maybe… Our work could be shown on (what was suggested by Mr Halliway) a Big Writing Gallery!

The teachers would really love to read all of them and most probably display ALL of our work in the Gallery! Let’s hope that your work gets displayed – fingers crossed for that!

chinese new year

Hello Eastbury

Here at eastbury we have been celebrating Chinese new year. This is the Chinese year of the dragon. Chinese children born in the year of the dragon are considered to be high in dignity.

Chinese new year is one of the most important of the traditional chines holidays. Year 1 will be doing an assembly about Chinese new year on Friday the 5 of February at 9:30 am. We hope lots of parents will be able to make it because it will be really exciting and you will really enjoy what they have prepared. On Chinese new years eve Chinese families gather for their annual reunion dinner. from all of us at Eastbury hope you have a happy new year.

Friendship Bracelets

As some of the children know, the Year 6, 3 and 5 children have been making some friendship bracelets in art with Mrs Harrison.

This bracelets are dedicated to the No Name Calling Week. Once the whole year groups have finished making these bracelets, we're going to combine them together so that we can make a gigantic bracelet. All of the children have worked really hard and have been looking forward to make the bracelets it is the second best thing we have done in art so far.

Y6: Get Those Prom Stamps!

Hey Eastbury!

As you know it is really important for every Y6 pupil to collect 50 Prom stamps so that at the end of the year, they can go to the End of Y6 Prom. So better start collecting now or without luck, you will not be invited!

They collecting started last week and I think the teachers are very proud of every Y6 pupil who got stamps. So well done to you guys! Keep it up and you will get to party like never before!

There is not that long till the end of the year so every week try to get as many as possible! If you haven't got any YET try to: Help pupils/ school staff, be kind to others, try to prevent bullying (in other words help out people when they are bullying or getting bullied without getting agressive.)

So fingers crossed for every one of you in Y6, and if you're in Y5, try start thinking about how you are going to collect stamps next year and maybe magpie (copy) what all the good Y6s do this year!

Olympic Art

Hello Eastbury,

This week year 5 have been working on Olympic art with Mr Scott (a pro artist) and, our art teacher, Mrs Harrison. By using charcoal and rubbers .

During this week year 5 have been drawing pictures of land marks, athletes, the Olympic rings, the Olympic stadium and other fascinating Olympic themed things that we will later be making into 3D models!

These pictures and models are going to be displayed at an amazing town show for the whole town to see! Thank you for reading our post.

Y6 Treat: End of Y6 Prom!!!

Hello Eastbury Followers!

Year 6 must be really excited as they heard about End of Year 6 Prom in assembly today, announced by Mr Lungoomiah.

At the end of the year, the current Y6's are going to have the opportunity to party after school, celebrating their achievements and, hopefully, very good grades!

Amazing! All we need to do is collect 50 stamps to attended the prom, happy times!

A fun and ever-lasting memory of Prom in our minds will be a great way to end our primary school life.

Icy Conditions

We are here to inform you about the icy conditions in the playground. The hill top is very slippery so please do not approach it. We wouldn't want you to get injured in any sort of way.

WARNING: Please take care of yourselves! Don't step around the icy areas, there's a good chance that you may fall or slip. Just keep away and play in different parts of the playground because, luckily, it's massive, isn't it?

Please, on behalf of everyone: Stay safe in the playground, especially at break times because at lunchtimes the ice fades away due to the Sun.

No Name Calling Week

Hello Eastbury Primary,

As some of you know, some children have been calling each other very nasty names. If someone insults or hits you, you should tell an adult. Never ever fight back or call them names, because then you would be breaking the rules too! Rise above it and be the better person!

If you know you have been bullying others then now is the time to change your ways and turn over a new leaf as next week is No Name Calling Week! We want everyone not only to stop calling other people names, but to be nice to others so we can all get along better and be happier. Apologize and forgive each other and show your best behavior: Bullying is wrong. We can make Eastbury an even better school together!

During this week, the Multiskils Festival has been taking place in Eastbury Primary.

This exciting event was led by some of the Eastbury Comprehensive Sports Leaders. It took place in the hall and there was lots of activities to enjoy and choose from. There was skipping, balancing, racing and lots more! There will be a reward for the winning class and a certificate will be given to them. I hope my class wins! (Fingers crossed!)

Hello Eastbury Primary!

I would like to tell all the TA's a heart-felt thank you for everything they do for us.

Not only do they help the teachers single handedly with everything that they need but they watch over us! For example for reception, the TA's set up the playground activities and play with the children everyday!

As well as this, they help out in our lessons and help our teachers with their work when they have lots to do. All of this together is really brilliant for the school and for us! The TA's are wonderful and are the most amazing people I have ever seen.

They do all this for us without any help themselves, so next time you see a TA who is struggling with something, help them help us and the school will be a little nicer for everyone!

Basketball Tournament

Hi Eastbury blog fans,

As you may know Tuesday 6th of December, a group of children from year 6 attended a Basketball Competition which took place at Eastbury Comprehensive. The teams that also attended this amazing tournament included Manor, Dorothy Barley, Beam, Ripple and many more.

Our 15 Eastbury players had to get split up into 3 different teams: The Bumblebees team, Maroon team and the Orange team.

Our hearts were beating as fast as a cheetah, it was time to play our first match. The first goal was made by one of our team mates. In the end we both drew and we were exhausted. We watched the other 2 teams fighting for there destiny to reach the final. However only one team from Eastbury got through which was the Bumblebees team! The team that won will be going to the finals after Christmas!

We really enjoyed our afternoon at Eastbury Comprehensive. Thank you to all the teachers that organized this event for us and also the sports leaders for giving their time for us.

OFSTED in Eastbury

Hello Eastbury,

We are proud to say that our amazing school passed the challenging OFSTED inspection!

As you may know, OFSTED inspectors arrived at Eastbury to asses how the school is doing since they last visited when we were still in the older buildings.

During one of my lessons, one of the year 6 classes, the inspector suddenly walked through the door to observe how that class was doing. We all represented our school well by showing we knew things that we were being taught and by acting as well behaved as what is asked of us at school.

Our class, 6C wasn't the only class that got visited by these smart people, over the course of the two days lots of other classes got visits too and the inspectors even got the chance to question some students about what they think about our school, questions like :

What are we learning?

Do we understand what the task is when they are given to us?

What our levels are how we are going to achieve them.

We would like to thank the entire school for showing OFSTED what we are capable of as a school and how we are growing and bettering ourselves, with the school being a big part of it.

Christmas at Eastbury

Christmas: The best celebration in history, is coming in 2 weeks and 4 days. WOOHOOO!!!!

Christmas is so close now and we are all so excited. I have being looking forward to Christmas for soooo long and I can't believe it is finally only a few weeks away. I can't wait!

There are going to be so many activities at the school: Today the school, including myself from 5B, had a decoration lesson making snowmen and other different decorations for our Christmas trees and for the rest of the school! This means we are all helping in getting the school ready for Christmas. It's fun to make decorations for our school because we get to be creative it makes the school look all festive!

Also on Friday we are having a Christmas Bazaar with is being held from 3pm to 4pm. Thank you to all parents who are helping us! Many games and stalls will be at the Bazaar. Just a few of them include: Pin a Nose on Rudolph; Guess who's the Baby; Hook a Duck and many more!

Christmas Disco is on the last day of school before we break up for Christmas and we'll be partying to celebrate the last day of term.

Homework Club has recently started and numbers of children from different classes has been invited to join. It's good opportunity to help children to catch up and do their homework, meaning they will get good grades and become something good in life which is fantastic!

It's great having teachers around to help you with your homework if you don't understand something. Everyone in school thinks homework club is great!

Many may come, some might not but what is good is how everyone that attends will finish all their homework and won't fall behind in class.

Molten Festival

We are incredibly pleased to announce that the Molten Festival is this Saturday! Mrs Harrison tried her hardest to choose some children to represent our school , good luck to everyone who's going!

Molten Festival is all about light and lamps. Everyone who is attending this festival with Mrs Harrison will take part in taking their lamps to Barking along with their parents/careers like a carnival. At around 6 'o clock in the evening, the children from Eastbury will watch their lamps dazzle up in Barking!

Olympic Tickets

Hello! I am going to tell you about the Olympic ticket give away!

As some of you may know, Mr Navarro announced the winners of the Olympic tickets during our Tuesday assembly this week - picking random numbers out of a box, so exciting!

These children will now attend the London Handball Cup to be held in the Olympic Park, Stratford, on Saturday 26th November 2011.

This is a tremendous experience for those 10 lucky children: They are the first ever Eastbury children to visit the Olympic site.

If you have a ticket you must be very lucky! The 10 children have to meet up in Upney station at 12:00pm in middle of the day. The children will be collected from Upney station at 19:45pm.

Please try not to be late because if you are you may get left behind, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity which nobody wants to miss for the world!

Library Monitors

Our school's library is now being moved from its original place to the old Rainbow Room which is much closer to our playground.

Some children volenteered to help Miss Hoodless transfer the books. They meet at one o'clock so they didn't miss any lesson time. After that, they went to the library's original place to get some books to carry to the Rainbow Room. If there was a trolley downstairs, we used it to carry more of the books around the school. It was much more efficient than carrying books with our arms.

All pupils at Eastbury should try to help as much as possible to make our school even better (The library monitors have already done their job!)

The Book Fair was amazing!

Hello Eastbury children,

First of all, thanks to all parents and teachers who helped with the fantastic Book Fair!

The people who went to the book fair were amazed by the selection of different books from various authors. There were many books to choose from, children couldn't decide because all of them caught their eyes!

We raised so much money that we are not actually sure how much we have raised... Because we are still counting it!

Eastbury vs Monteagle, the football match!

Last Friday 14 brave Eastbury children travelled to Monteagle School to play an 11-a-side football match.

At the first 5 minuites of the match Monteagle scored a goal but we had a great comeback and scored 2 goals, the goal scorer was SuperJames. When the whistle blew for half-time we were winning but early in the second half Monteagle scored another 5 goals. We tried our hardest but it wasn't our best performance...

Thank you Monteagle School for letting us play on your pitch and compete against your players. We didn't defeat you but next time we will be back and stronger than ever before!

Business Day

As some of you know, Business Day is coming up and we want you all to be dressed as smart as possible on Friday. We want you all to know that you can dress however you want, as long as you look professional! And don't be afraid to show the school what you got and shine to the big sky!

This non-uniform day has been organised so we can celebrate the last day of Enterprise Week. Children need to look smart enough to convince the mighty dragons to choose their designs, then earn the 1000 pound prize!

Enterprise Week So Far!

This week Eastbury pupils have been working hard at designing our products for Enterprise Week. It has been very exciting for all of us but we are all very nervous because we all want our ideas to succeed.

Our products will be placed in the playground and will be seen by all of Eastbury Primary, imagine how proud we would be if we won!

We will be presenting our prototypes to the dragons on Friday afternoon. in case you don't know, the Eastbury dragons have been chosen because they are people who take care of our comunity.

The Eastbury football team took part in the Evans Moore Cup last Saturday. We faced many other Barking and Dagenham schools but, unfortunately, we didn't make it to the second round. Having said that, we tried our best and will definitely come back stronger next time.

This Friday we have another chance as we will face Monteagle School in the 11-a-side Barking and Dagenham School League. Parents and carers are welcome to join us at Monteagle from 2pm.

The children going to Monteagle school will be receiving an award at assembly as we are sure they will represent the school well.

We hope they play great and wish them all luck!!!

Remembrance Day

Hello Eastbury and beyond,

We are very happy to celebrate Remembrance Day in Eastbury Primary! It is very important for all Eastbury pupils. Tomorrow and on Friday some Y6 children will be selling Poppies around school. If you want to buy a poppy then you can bring any amount from 20p.

As you all know, Remembrance Day is not just about selling Poppies. Remembrance Day is also known as Armistice. It takes place on the 11th day, the 11th month. It's a memory of the soldiers that sacrificed their lives for us so we have a better future. On Remembrance Day, on 11:00 am, we will have a two minute silence to remember all the soldiers that sacrificed life for us.

As some of you may know, next week we will be celebrating a special event which would be taking place in Eastbury Primary school it is...Children in need!

This is the time wear we get spotty. Fingers crossed... we maybe having a party!!!

All the money we raise will go to the Children In Need charity. We need to help those who are less fortunate than us but hopefully by the time we are finished we can make their lifes change.

Children in need is a time of the year when people raise money for a good cause.

The money will help less fortunate children be more independent in there lives. This is important because then in the future when they're older they can be less dependant on adults.

You can help by raising money. You can helps by baking cake and salling them, going on long walks, records, magic tricks and many more events.

Try your best with one of the above activities, be a part of helping raise as much money as you can.

On this spectacular week we are going to be creating our own inventions! But there is a twist! No teacher will know what we are making until a day before we are going to show them to the dragons!

Also after we have designed our inventions we will be showing them to the dragons/teachers and Miss Thomas in the hall at 1:45pm.

This will be happening from the 14th to the 18th of November, but you haven't even heard the best bit yet! The person who gives the best presentation to the Dragons will win £100 and the person with the best invention will get £1000 to make a real, bigger version of it! We will also be making posters for the event and the whoever makes the best one will win £5 !

Margret Hodge, who is a Member of Parliament for Barking, picks the best painting and puts it on her Christmas card and sends it to all the people she knows! Which means your painting might even get seen by the Prime Minister!

If you win you get to go to a hall in Barking town center and they take a picture of you with Margret Hodge. You also win fantastic prizes such as laptops, ipads and much more!!!

Y5 Eid Assembly

Eid Mubarak! Which means "Happy Eid". This Friday Yr 5 are going to be preforming a very important assembly to parents, carers and also children.

The assembly is explaining about how the Khabbah is built. Did you know that there are two Eid's? Amazing isn't it?

In Yr5's assembly there will be children dressed up in the traditional Eid clothes and what the boys wear a special kind of dress,the girls wear a headscarf and a special dress.

The food that Islamic people eat at Eid are like grapes but they have a seed in it, it's called a Khazuior.

School Council

Monday the 31st of October was one of the most terrifying days for the whole school! Not because it was halloween but because the school councilors were going to be announced and many of us wanted to become one!

Once everybody walked into the school hall Miss Edmuds and Miss Hegge finally announced the school councilors. Well done to everyone that became a school councilor and sorry to everyone that didn't quite make it. I'm sure picking the school councilors is a tough decision and we wish you better luck in the future!

What makes a good school councilor is that they all need to be responsible, respectful and need to be someone that represents your class well. The school council is made up of two children from each classroom which forms a small group of councilors. They listen to you and your ideas then they mention them in their meetings so everyone's views and ideas are sheared with the teachers so that the school is always getting better for everyone!

As some of you know, Thursday 6th of October was National Poetry Day which was dedicated to the people who are fans of poetry (and also to the people who don’t really like poetry, so they learn more about it)

This was a great opportunity for children who want to be poets when they grow up, or even now! Eastbury gave the opportunity to the children that want to come to school with a poem.

On Wednesday 28th there was a new theme at Eastbury Primary School. It was... No Pens Day! Now, I know that you're quite exited about that.

Everyone in Eastbury Primary School was delighted to know that it was No Pens Day. However, the bad news were that we had to listen, say and also get it right. As we all know, Eastbury Primary children are very clever. Anyway, everyone was very exited about No Pens Day. In my opinion, writing is harder that talking, which is why we come to school to enjoy learning daily!

Eastbury's building is almost finished!

The building works have been going on for a few months but now even the old infants side of the school is going to be completed soon!

In our new school, new rooms have been created such as: The changing room for PE, Main PE hall, Dinner hall, ICT Suite with 31 computers, an amazing playground that has been divided into 2 areas... AMAZING!

Comparing to our old school, it's much better: Some of the stairs were cracked, the walls weren't painted and the playground was tiny and dangerous at the same time.

Mixed Classes!

As it is a new school year, the teachers have decided to mixed the pupils so that we can get to know other students. It was weird at first but after a couple of days we made new friends and grew fond of each other.

Having new friends has helped us to improve on our social skills in life and in school.Now we have mixed classes, we can work better and get different kinds of support in our new classrooms.

Since the Summer holidays, teachers have organised lots of fabulous and exciting clubs for the hard working Eastbury Primary pupils. There is a new Drama club lead by the Deputy Head Miss Bashir, Music Band, Netball and lots more!

Most clubs are full, that's how exciting they are! Thanks to all our teachers! Especially to our Extended Schools leader, Mr Navarro!

Unfortunately, there aren't that many clubs as there was last year but at least there are a few new ones that are so cool!

What an amazing few weeks it has been! It must have been hard settling into such a big school. For some, it feels like the school is still the same but for others it is AMAZINGLY NEW! End of Year 5 Concert

Year 5 have been working hard this year to learn how to play the trumpet, euphonium and trombone. Every Monday our music teachers helped us learn a variety of songs and the actions to go with them.

Learning how to play an instrument is not as easy as it looks. We had to memorise the tracks and learn how to move the valves to play each note. We also had to make sure our instruments were kept in the best conditions... My euphonium kept getting stuck!

Thank you Mr Lougie and Mr Johnston for teaching how to play our instruments.

How To Be Green In Class

Hello Eastbury, in case you haven't noticed, we have a brilliant school! In the playground, everyone has fun and tries to play with others.

In class, people work hard and try their best to stay in green. To do so, you should be kind, helpful, respectful, not a bad person, don't bully people and no matter what try your best at all times because then if you go to orange you know that you let yourself down.

I know it is very tempting to talk to your friend at times but if you don't talk during classtime you might go to lunch early or get marbles if your WHOLE class is good which could get you treats on Friday like parachute games, tag or even the Nintendo Wii!

Cashless Lunchtime

Attention all parents!

As you know, Eastbury Primary School has introduced the Splash Card: A simple way to pay for your school dinners so you don't have to give in money to the school. Children stopped giving cash to our school office on Monday4th July.

The system works by the parents going to any PayPoint they choose and inserting money to pay for your dinners. The Splash Card is already used by lots of other primary schools. The children in Eastbury love the Splash Card because then they can't possibly forget to bring their money in.

Water Bottles Needed!

Humans need water because if it gets hotter you may not perform as well as you should. At times, learning time is wasted by children drinking from the tap. Water bottles are needed!

Amazing Sandwiches

This fantastic afternoon Year 3 were tasting yummy fillings.

We tried out yummy cheese and onion, egg mayonnaise, tuna and egg and bacon (these were only 4, but you can buy many more from the shops)

All of the fillings were so tasty that we couldn't even describe them, then the funny children started laughing like cheeky monkeys because they really enjoyed their lesson.

Crazy Summer Weather

As you all know, this week there's been strange summer weather, we all would wish that it wasn't so CRAZY! We can't tell you the exact temperature of tomorrow, but we are totally sure it's not going to make much sense.

For your own protection, wear a hat or suncream if it's sunny. If it's rainy, just take an umbrella with you (otherwise you will get a cold). When it's really boiling, please go to the swimming pool or have a bath. If you're not sure what weather is going to be tomorrow, check on the internet or just watch the news.

Thank You Treejumpers!

In Eastbury Primary School, Year 6 went to Treejumpers, a camp site where you can do lots of activities such as rock climbing, Jacob ladder, climbing and all sorts of activities including team work.

Year 6 had so much fun in the trip that they cannot believe how they did the most incredible things. You wouldn't normally do anything like it in school! They felt excited at first but when they became face to face with the obstacle, they soon got super scared. Unfortunately, Mr Navarro's tent collapsed and everyone was shocked when Mr Navarro woke up with hardly any sleep!

We would like to thank Kate and all the other instructors in Treejumpers and obviously all the teachers that came with us.

Keeping It Cool

On Tuesday we were lucky to have a performance which was called 'Keeping it cool'. It was about how to keep your anger in control, even when situations get difficult.

There was a superhero called Anger Man. There were two girls and one boy. The boy got angry because he got 9 out 10 in Maths, then he wasn't allowed to go to the end of school year disco. He was so upset that he ripped his friend's test paper, making him feel miserable for no reason. Not good!

We learnt that it's OK to be angry sometimes but we need to control our feelings to make sure we don't hurt others.

We enjoyed the play because there were performances like Doctor Who, Eastenders and many more. It was very educational, exciting and hilarious.

Y6 Treejumpers Day 3

We woke up a couple of hours ago, around 7:30, had breakfast and are now in the woods learning about water, shelter and making fire. It's all about survival skills this morning!

Most of us are pretty tired now but that's a sign of time well spent.

Y6 Treejumpers Day 2

After a very short night's sleep, our Y6 heroes set off to many exciting activities such as The Leap of Faith (we had to jump off a wooden post which was over 25 metres high) and other challenging games to promote teamwork.

We are looking forward to dinner at camp this evening, followed by stories by the fire before bedtime.

We didn't enjoy the rain that much, most of us are drenched and our muddy shoes are getting heavier by the minute but it's all worth it: We love it here!!!

You will not believe what happened today! The first newspaper from the ICT news club was printed, published and distributed to every child in our school (even Nursery!).

The newsletter is designed for children but parents can also read it to know what happens in our spectacular school. The name of the newsletter is Eastbury Express and it will go out every term. The school should be proud of what the children from ICT News Club have done so far... The future looks promising!

Corridor Supervisors

In Eastbury Primary School, the children of Year 6 have been helping out in the corridors as supervisors. You need to be very responsible to do this job because, sadly, some of the children in Eastbury run in the corridors and we DON'T want them to hurt themselves.

We feel that the corridor supervisors are helpful because they stop children from running and getting hurt, also we feel that if it wasn't for the corridor supervisors there would be a big fuss in the corridor. If the children are acting sensibly their names get written down on the good list.

Thank you corridor supervisors for helping us make the school a better place where children don't run about and feel safe.

We Were So Close To The Football Final!

In the football tournament, year six did very well and tried their hardest to get to the final of the Barking and Dagenham 5-a-side Cup.

Year six where playing so well. They got up to the quarter-finals, which made our teachers and coach so pleased and filled the school with joy and happiness. The score in our first match was a 2-0 defeat but then we got on and tried harder. In our second match, we drew 3-3 and luckily we won 5-1 shortly after that to get ourselves into the second round. Then, sadly, we lost 4-0 in the second round and were knocked out of the competition.

The boys, Mr.Navarro and Mrs Gale where so pleased with our fantasic effort. We want to thank our school, families and friends for their support.

Year Five Taster Day

On the 14th of June, the Year 5 children had a fantastic day at Eastbury Comprehensive school.

Once we arrived at the amazing school, we divided into groups and got going with the exciting activities. After that, group one and two started with the Glee activity while group three and four had a try with the ICT lesson.

In the Glee lesson, we got to dance and perform a chosen song by our super-duper leaders. The others were doing ICT which was based around animating online banners. In the afternoon, we took part in a sports festival together with the Yr5 from Ripple Juniors, which was really hard but exciting at the same time. There was so many children we didn't get to finish!

We really enjoyed our day out, hopefully we can go again.

3B's Assembly Is Coming Up!

3B has been preparing an assembly for everyone including their teachers and parents. This assembly will be about healthy sandwiches and following a balanced diet.

We have practised a great song, a fabulous script and we are running a special TV show just for you, all about sandwiches! Our assembly is on Friday: We are performing our assembly in the morning (for KS1 only) and afternoon (for KS2 and parents or guardians). Little children are allowed too, as long as they don't cry so much we can't be heard! (haha!)

Yr3 and Yr4 Joining us!

From this week, Yr3 and Yr4 are joining the Yr5 and Yr6 ICT News Club. They are as hard-working as us (or even more!) We are extremely pleased about them joining this activity and hopefully we will all be better and work as a team from now on.

The younger children may probably get a bit stuck or nervous but we will make an effort to make them confident, comfortable and make them feel welcome in our amazing club. We hope they enjoy working with us and learning much more by listening, helping each other and thinking of clever, intelligent ideas to make our posts more interesting.

Back To School It's Not Over Yet

Barking Project

In Year 5, we're researching about Barking and Dagenham. Barking and Dagenham is a fantastic area to learn about, because it is huge and most of us have been living here since we were little babies.
While we were doing the project, every child was enjoying the lessons. All the children were working and researching in the laptops, working hard to achieve goals in their lives. Children at Eastbury make brilliant efforts!

Do you know about the Splash card?

A splash card is similar to a credit card but it's much better because you can earn rewards(YAY) like free cinema tickets, swimming pool passes, toys, games and many more!

All you need to do is eating a healthy lunch, take part in sporty school clubs and going to the leisure centre or library. Not that hard, is it?

As children, we feel delighted that the school has introduced this Splash Card, it will make it easier for us to pay for our dinners. We are also very excited about getting presents just for being healthy!

Did you know you can top it up online or even at the shops? So easy!

Y5 Eastbury Comprehensive Taster

Hello again, children and parents!
We would like to tell you that Year 5 are going to Eastbury Comprehensive School on the 14th of June from 9:00 am to 3:15 pm. At the school we will be having a Multiskills festival, I.C.T based activities and Glee drama workshops.
We will all be walking to Eastbury Comprehensive and we will arrive at back at school at normal time. Please remember to pick us up at Eastbury Primary school otherwise we would cry and probably make a river of tears!
Personally, we think it's an brilliant idea because we enjoy ourselves and learn more. If you don't behave, you would sit down and watch the other children enjoying the fun activities. Thank you to all the teachers that organised this lovely trip for us!

ICT News Club for Years 3 and 4

This term there has been ICT News Club for years 3 and 4.

We have been journalists and made up our own news reports to publish on our blog.

Our news reports have impressed our teachers, Miss Harman and Miss Richards.

Every day we are getting one step closer to publishing our reports to our blog.

So far two boys have published their reports on the blog and the others are very close to publishing too!

You could join our ICT news club and maybe your report will be on the blog too!

The doctor and I were standing in the TARDIS and wow we went back in time. Back to space!

An alien crew were trying to take over the world! So obviously I was gobsmacked . The Doctor on the other hand gave them his evil glare, and kaboosh off they were strutting back to their ship.
